Services to DFID
All of the GSDRC's services are accessible to any organisation working in international development, including governments, donors, NGOs, consulting firms, and research organisations. The web-based services are provided free to anyone, while research and consultancy services operate on a fee-for-service basis without any subsidy. The GSDRC receives core funding from the UK Department for International Development (DFID) so certain services operate slightly differently for DFID staff:

The rapid response research service is paid for centrally by DFID's Policy Division so it is free to all DFID staff including country offices, and DFID staff may view all past research done for DFID.
- Consultancy services are handled through a framework agreement with DFID's purchasing department to simplify administration.
- Certain topic guide pages and some documents in the library are restricted so that only authorised DFID staff can view them.
- DFID staff receive a version of our email bulletin that includes news about administrative matters and events relevant only to DFID staff.
